people describe a song as "stuck in their head" and i think about how i don't have a head for it to get stuck in, just a place where the song would be playing if the song were playing. which is, i'm told, just having a song stuck in your head.

Years ago Onion got a song loop stuck in my head somehow and it stayed there for about 6 months before I managed to identify it. I'm still traumatized when I hear REO Speedwagon.
six months is a full half-year sublet and reo speedwagon didn't pay a dime of rent. what was the song, so i can avoid hosting it myself
